Our Approach to Sustainability

Long Product Life and Easy Maintenance

We focus on minimizing our environmental footprint throughout the lifecycle of our products. Our instruments are designed for a long service life and low maintenance requirements, helping to reduce resource consumption and extend their useful life.

Responsible Use of Resources

Our modular product design supports maintenance and repair, helping customers keep their instruments in operation for as long as possible. We are committed to making relevant spare parts and materials available for at least 10 years, supporting the long-term maintenance and repair of our instruments.

Sustainable Procurement

Our suppliers play an important role in our value chain. Strategic Procurement makes a significant contribution to our approach to responsible and sustainable procurement, helping ensure that our expectations for responsible business practices are reflected throughout our supply chain.

Based on our Code of Conduct and supplier self-assessments, approximately 88% of our total procurement volume is currently covered.

Making a Positive Impact

For more than 20 years, SWAN has been continuously supporting sustainable drinking water projects around the world. Over this period, SWAN has invested more than CHF 1 million in sustainable development projects. The support provided by SWAN has the potential to enable long-term access to clean drinking water for more than 16'000 people.

Projects supported by SWAN have included initiatives in:

  • Mali

  • Bangladesh

  • Nepal

  • Bolivia

A key aspect of these initiatives is the high efficiency of the funds provided: more than 95% of the funds invested flow directly into the projects and their implementation.

Beyond access to clean drinking water, these projects contribute to improved health, better educational opportunities and greater equality through sustainable access to water.

SWAN has maintained this commitment even during economically challenging periods, reflecting our long-term commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility.
